We kickstart the new year by featuring a recent podcast interview our newest partner Jennifer Ho did with Andrew Senduk at The Masters of Cashflow. The Masters of Cashflow podcast is dedicated to demystifying Venture Capital in Southeast Asia.
In this 40-minute episode, Jennifer talks about her personal journey from investment banking to the VC world, as well as how Integra Partners has transformed from 2017 till now, amid the covid pandemic and changing industry landscape (i.e. valuation inflation and larger fund sizes). Jen also shares her insights on why “The art of saying no” is important and necessary for VCs, how to justify reasonable valuations and key takeaways from Integra’s first big exit where ReaQta was acquired by IBM.
When it comes to staying unique as a VC manager and being top of mind with the best entrepreneurs, Jen explains how being a specialist in various interdependent sectors can forge better synergies for the startup founders.
As to the biggest secret of being a great VC investor – other than having a good understanding of people and risks, Jen believes it ultimately comes down to being a good and genuine human being, as venture capital is largely a people business after all.
